ABOUT ME

Rocco currently lives in the Upper West Side of New York City, where he dances in various studios and for dance projects around the city. His work varies from contemporary, jazz, street styles, and commercial work.  Most recently, he was a member of the Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center. He recently earned his Bachelors of Arts in Dance from Point Park University with an emphasis in Modern Dance. Previously, he attended Bowling Green State University, earning a Bachelors in Music Education. He teaches and choreographs for Norwin High School. He recently served as the color guard director at OFallon Township HS, where he led them to be a BOA Grand National Finalist and a WGI Scholastic A class finalist in his first year as director.

 

Rocco’s performance career is unique. He started off as a euphonium performer at the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps from 2009-2012. His indoor drum line experience began at Matrix Indoor Percussion Ensemble from 2011-2013, and most recently, Rocco performed with Onyx World color guard in 2017, 2021, and 2022, serving as one of their captains in 2021 and 2022.

 

Rocco has been teaching drum corps since 2013. His teaching career started at the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in 2013 to 2014, and then brought him to the Phantom Regiment from 2015 to 2020, where he specialized in dance and movement.  Rocco has also served as a staff member for Onyx World Class Color Guard since 2019, and continues to do so in 2022. Rocco served as the color guard caption head of the Mandarins Drum and Bugle corps in the summer of 2021.   In Rocco’s free time, he enjoys bouldering, climbing, running, hiking, and enjoying nature.
